Description
Franck Schoefs graduated from ENS Cachan School in 1992. He obtained M.Sc. degree in Coastal and Offshore Civil Engineering at the Ecole Centrale de Nantes and PhD in Civil Engineering (Reliability of Offshore structures) in 1996 at Ifremer/Nantes Université. He joined Université de Nantes in 1998 as assistant professor and became full Professor in 2010.
He is CEO of the ‘Sea and Littoral Research Institute’ (850 researchers) since 2017. He is Member of the Scientific Committee of the network of French Marine Universities (19 Universities) which represents the network at the European Marine Board.
Franck’s main research topics are risk assessment, reliability, and monitoring the structural integrity of offshore and coastal structures with a focus on the effect of biofouling. He is author on +120 scientific journal papers.
