The FISHWIND1 project (www.fishwind.fr) brings together fishers, scientists, floating offshore wind project developers, government authorities, and experts with the aim of structuring and sustainably securing the coexistence between professional fishing activities and future commercial floating offshore wind farms in the Mediterranean.
The project seeks to fully integrate fishing activities within these wind farms by designing eco-engineered artificial structures that promote fishery production. It also forms part of a broader approach to restoring degraded marine habitats and enhancing biodiversity, in line with the environmental and socio-economic objectives of the Mediterranean maritime area.
