Seanergy 2024: A Resounding Success in Nantes

Seanergy 2024 concluded successfully on June 26-27 in Nantes, showcasing a strong commitment from offshore renewable energy stakeholders across France and Europe. Representatives from the sector came together to emphasize the crucial role of offshore renewable energies in the transition to a sustainable future. Sabrina Pedrosa Peseux, CEO of Bluesign, had the perfect words to sum up the atmosphere and tone of this year’s edition: "In this particular political context in France & Europe, the 2024 edition of Seanergy demonstrated the motivation and commitment of industry players, who must redouble their efforts to continue their ambitious development. The density and diversity of participants, as well as the quality of exchanges, confirmed once again that this industry, steadily progressing for over 10 years, is essential for the energy transition and for an industrial and energetical sovereignty. It significantly contributes to decarbonized electricity, impacting the purchasing power of Europeans."
Highlights of the 8th Edition Attendance and Participation Over 3,500 visitors including industry leaders, academics, and representatives of public authorities. Delegates from 30+ countries, representing both developed and emerging markets such as Denmark, Spain, Ireland, Finland, Greece, Italy, Norway, Poland, the UK, and Taiwan. 200 exhibitors across the entire value chain, featuring prominent companies like ATS, BayWa r.e., Chantiers de l’Atlantique, CorPower Ocean, EDF Renewables, Elicio, Fondation Open-C, GEPS Techno, HydroQuest, IRT Jules Verne, Lhyfe, Oportunity, RWE, SAP, SeaQurrent, Oxan energy, TeamViewer, Tidav, & many more 8 startups and SMEs highlighted in the innovation village. +150 Students at all stages of their formation attended a dedicated programme via Workinblue to discover the industry & meet with the stakeholders Rich Content and Discussions: 50+ international conferences. 80+ speakers, with 45% being international. 4 research posters awarded, all led by women, showcasing gender parity progress in the sector. Key Moments: The collective action of industry leaders through the publication of an open letter titled « Renewable Energies: Beware of Headwinds in France« , emphasizing the sector’s unity and importance. Presentation of the 8th Marine Energy Observatory results, indicating significant growth: 8,300 jobs: +1,000 in one year. €3.8 billion in investments and €3.5 billion in revenue: +82% in one year. 8 TWh of electricity produced, equivalent to the consumption of 500,000 households. €9 million in tax revenue from the Saint-Nazaire park alone. Signing of a convention between Workinblue and France Travail to connect industry players with talented professionals. Bluesign will host the 2nd online recruitment fair « Marine Renewable Energies Recruit » from October 7-21, 2024.
