Description
atrick Charignon, Executive VP Asia & Pacific of EDF power solutions, is a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité (Supélec), Institut National des Sciences et Techniques Nucléaires (INSTN) and INSEAD. He began his career in 1994 as Nuclear Engineer at EDF. In 1998, he joined the construction of the Laibin thermal power plant in PR China and then took several positions as Project Director for power generation and M&A projects in Europe. After an MBA in 2004, he joined team in charge of preparing the IPO of EDF (2005) then the one of EDF Renewables (2006). From 2007 on, he took several managerial positions at EDF Renewables, developing the distributed solar activities in France and supervising the Group activities in the French overseas departments. From 2011 to 2016, he worked outside the EDF Group, originating and executing investments transaction for a private equity firm. In 2016 he was appointed COO of EDF Renewables China, based in Beijing. In 2019 he became Country Representative of EDF Renewables in India, based in New-Delhi. In 2020 he was appointed VP of EDF Renewables in charge of the Asia & Pacific region. Since Feb. 2025, he is in charge of the activities of EDF power solutions (incl. grid, hydro, renewables, green H2) in the APAC region.
