Jean-Rémy Villageois
NANTES- SAINT-NAZAIRE PORT
Chair of the Management Board
Description
An engineer by training, Jean-Rémy Villageois graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées (ENSTA Paris). He began his career in Houston with Pride International before joining STX Europe (formerly Chantiers de l’Atlantique) in Saint-Nazaire. In 2012, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of the Grand Port Maritime de la Martinique, and in 2024, he took over as head of Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port, the leading port on France’s Atlantic coast.
Jean-Rémy Villageois is leading an ambitious strategy to transform Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port into a key player in the energy transition. Drawing on the experience gained from France’s first offshore wind farm off the coast of Saint-Nazaire, and now actively involved in the logistics for the wind farm between the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier, the port is firmly committed to the development of marine renewable energy. With the Éole project, a future platform for assembling the next generation of offshore wind turbines, the port is anticipating the industrial needs of the sector by combining innovation, sustainability, and energy sovereignty.
