“Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy, created as a 50/50 joint venture owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE. Founded on the belief that offshore wind is a key component of the global energy transition, we develop, finance, build, and operate offshore wind farm projects around the world.
In France, in partnership with Banque des Territoires, Ocean Winds is the majority shareholder of four offshore wind farms:
• EMYN (Yeu-Noirmoutier), An approximately 500 MW bottom-fixed offshore wind farm using monopile foundations, currently under construction off the Atlantic coast.
• EMDT (Dieppe Le-Tréport), An approximately 500 MW bottom-fixed offshore wind farm using jacket foundations, currently under construction in the Manche Channel.
• EFGL (Les Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion): A pilot floating wind project currently under the last phases of construction, in the Gulf of Lion, with a capacity of 30 MW.
• EFLO (Éoliennes Flottantes d'Occitanie): A 250 MW floating offshore wind project, also located in the Gulf of Lion, off the coasts of the Hérault and Aude departments. Early development stage; awarded in December 2024.”
